Rewards of a Line of Credit

October 22nd, 2009 by Defender

My family has owned numerous small businesses over the past thirty years. To start with, we were lucky enough to receive a traditional loan to initially set up the various businesses we have owned. These loans required weeks of effort, and each time we had to put up our home and vehicles as collateral. Over time, this has caused sizeable stress for our family. Until recently, we did not know that there was an simpler way to borrow money. Throughout the years, we had many unique businesses, but numerous of these were in the same market. In other words, we operated many motels over the last thirty years. With these businesses, we applied the same limited liability corporation.

Because the business stayed the same, we were able to be approved for a small business line of credit. For the last fifteen years, we have had the same business, and five years ago we finally got an unsecured business credit line. This has made the past five years extremely simple for us. Similar to any business, we face ups and downs. During the dimmer periods, if our sales decrease more than usual and it is difficult to compensate our suppliers, we have a secondary source of funds. We can use the line to receive funds from the bank. We can directly use these funds to pay our supplier. Once business turns around, we can repay the borrowed amount to the bank.

We were consistent with our repayments for the past five years, so the bank had continuously increased our borrowing amount. It is evident that without the small business line of credit, our business would not have survived the last five years. Luckily, if we were not able to secure this additional resource of funds, we were also qualified to receive a merchant advance. This is another good way to receive funding. We receive an amount from the lender, and we can use these funds for anything we wish. The payment is automated, so we do not have to keep track of a repayment schedule. If a credit line is not an alternative for your business, then look into a merchant advance. It is easy to use and a great asset for your business.
